Building upon its predecessor, Robin, Kosmos is designed to automate data-driven research, performing iterative cycles of literature search, hypothesis generation, and data analysis with unprecedented efficiency.
Beta testers and independent scientists have reported astonishing results, indicating that Kosmos can accomplish in a single day what would typically require six months of work from a dedicated human scientist. This remarkable acceleration is attributed to Kosmos’s sophisticated architecture, which includes a structured world model that allows it to maintain coherence and integrate vast amounts of information over extended runs. In a typical session, which can last up to 12 hours, Kosmos is capable of reading approximately 1,500 scientific papers and executing over 42,000 lines of analysis code.
Crucially, Kosmos demonstrates a high degree of reliability, with independent scientists verifying an accuracy rate of 79.4% in its conclusions. The system’s commitment to transparency is also a key feature; every statement and finding in its reports is meticulously cited with the corresponding code or primary literature, ensuring full traceability and auditability—a significant step in building trust in AI-driven research.
