TLDR: New research reveals that nearly two-thirds of B2B revenue leaders in the UK and Europe are achieving first-year Return on Investment (ROI) from their AI adoption. This success is largely attributed to the growing demand for faster and more precise responses from vendors, prompting businesses to leverage AI-powered solutions and agents to enhance efficiency and drive growth.
A recent study conducted by strategic response management (SRM) specialist Responsive, in collaboration with the Association of Proposal Management Professionals (APMP), highlights a significant trend: nearly two-thirds of B2B revenue leaders across the UK and Europe are now reporting first-year Return on Investment (ROI) from their AI adoption. The ‘Winning Business in the Age of AI’ market trends report, which gathered data from 200 revenue leaders and practitioners in these regions, underscores a transformative period for B2B operations.
The findings indicate that the increasing expectations of B2B buyers, who demand quicker and more concise responses from vendors, are a primary catalyst for this AI integration. In response, successful go-to-market teams are actively deploying AI-powered solutions and AI agents to meet these demands and foster business growth, with tangible results emerging swiftly.
The research provides specific timelines for ROI realization: 19% of organizations reported achieving ROI within the first three months of AI implementation, with an equal percentage seeing returns between three and six months. Furthermore, over a quarter (27%) of participants experienced ROI within six to twelve months after adopting the technology.
The United Kingdom is notably at the forefront of this AI acceleration. The study reveals that 78% of UK organizations have increased their technology spending, significantly higher than the 60% reported in the EU. More than half of UK businesses are either piloting or planning to integrate AI into critical revenue-generating functions. While UK businesses are adopting AI agents with a measured approach, 21% have fully deployed these capabilities, and an additional 27% are currently in the testing phase.

Ganesh Shankar, CEO of Responsive, commented on these trends, emphasizing a thoughtful evolution in how organizations are implementing new capabilities. Shankar stated, “What we’re seeing across revenue teams in the UK and Europe is not a race to adopt AI for adoption’s sake, but a thoughtful shift in how organisations align people, process, and technology—redefining roles, rethinking workflows, and embracing knowledge democratization to drive smarter, more scalable growth.” Looking ahead, a substantial 71% of respondents believe that the role of bid and proposal professionals will need to evolve in response to the pervasive influence of AI.
