AI Hive Launches to Simplify Artificial Intelligence for Travel Professionals

TLDR: A new online community called ‘AI Hive’ has been launched by travel entrepreneur Steve Endacott to help travel agents and industry professionals understand and effectively utilize the growing array of AI tools. The initiative aims to cut through the jargon and provide practical knowledge, recognizing AI as a transformative force in the travel sector.

Travel industry professionals are being invited to join a new online community, ‘AI Hive,’ designed to demystify the rapidly evolving landscape of artificial intelligence tools. Launched by seasoned travel entrepreneur and AI enthusiast Steve Endacott, the initiative aims to equip agents with the knowledge and resources needed to effectively integrate AI into their operations.

Endacott highlighted the overwhelming influx of AI solutions, stating, “There’s so much AI being chucked at everybody every day… It’s coming thick and fast – there are lots of businesses that don’t know what to do. We’re here to explain things and get away from the jargon.” The AI Hive seeks to serve as a practical resource, sharing insights on which AI tools are beneficial for the travel sector and providing updates to help professionals navigate the technological shift.

The community is open to anyone in the travel industry, whether they are looking to learn the basics or share their own experiences with AI. Endacott emphasized the collaborative nature of the platform: “AI Hive is a community to share knowledge – what’s good for travel and what’s not. It’s open to anybody who wants to join, whether you just want to learn or share information about what works. It’s about cutting through the noise and sharing the best tools and updates.”

The launch of AI Hive comes at a time when artificial intelligence is a significant topic within the travel industry. AI was a central focus at a recent Debate ITT event and was extensively discussed during the Institute of Travel and Tourism (ITT) conference agenda, where delegates explored its applications, benefits, and deployment in a sector traditionally reliant on human interaction.

Endacott views AI as an unavoidable revolution. “There’s a massive elephant out there that you can’t ignore,” he asserted. “You have to get onboard, it’s a revolution that’s going to happen in the next five years. It’s going to change our world so quickly.” He pointed to emerging AI-based interactive platforms like Perplexity’s Comet and ChatGPT’s Agent, which are capable of researching and booking holidays.

He also explained why AI is particularly advantageous for travel agents over individual consumers. While setting up AI tools can be complex for someone booking a holiday once or twice a year, agents can leverage AI constantly. “Whereas an agent can use AI all the time – it does all the work for you and is much quicker at doing research,” Endacott noted.
