TLDR: Agora, a leader in real-time engagement and conversational AI, has partnered with Exotel, a prominent customer engagement platform, to deploy advanced AI voice bot solutions. This collaboration aims to deliver human-like, real-time voice interactions at scale for enterprises in India and the Middle East, targeting 50-100 million AI-led voice interactions annually and significant cost reductions.
In a significant move set to transform customer engagement, Agora, a global leader in real-time engagement and conversational AI technology, has announced a strategic partnership with Exotel, a leading provider of AI transformation for customer engagement and experience. This collaboration will leverage Exotel’s programmable voice streaming platform, AgentStream, to deliver intelligent and scalable AI voice bot experiences to enterprises across India and the Middle East.
The integrated solution combines Agora’s Conversational AI Engine with Exotel’s robust streaming infrastructure, enabling seamless, human-like conversations across various channels including Public Switched Telephone Network (PSTN), WhatsApp, in-app, and WebRTC. This eliminates the complexity for businesses of managing underlying telephony or connectivity layers, allowing them to focus on enhancing customer interactions.
The partnership is poised to make a substantial impact on the region’s digital transformation efforts. Agora and Exotel are jointly targeting an ambitious 50–100 million AI-led voice interactions annually across India and the Middle East. These AI-powered bots are expected to automate 30–40% of routine voice queries, leading to an estimated reduction in operational costs by up to 30%. These projections are supported by regional conversational-AI market growth and early enterprise pilot data, which indicate that voice automation can significantly lower handling times while improving customer experience.
Tony Zhao, CEO and Co-founder of Agora, emphasized the strategic importance of this alliance. “Enterprises today are seeking scalable and intelligent AI solutions that can deliver human-like customer experiences in real time. Our partnership with Exotel combines the strengths of Agora’s Conversational AI Engine with Exotel’s robust programmable voice infrastructure, making it easier for enterprises to deploy AI agents that enhance customer engagement and operational efficiency,” Zhao stated.
Echoing this sentiment, Sachin Bhatia, Co-founder and CGO of Exotel, highlighted the complementary nature of the collaboration. “Exotel’s programmable streaming infrastructure allows technology providers like Agora to focus on intelligence and experience, while we power the connectivity behind it,” Bhatia commented.
Exotel currently boasts a significant footprint, supporting over 25 billion annual conversations for more than 7,000 enterprises worldwide. Its diverse client base spans critical industries such as BFSI (Banking, Financial Services, and Insurance), Logistics, Consumer Durables, E-commerce, Healthcare, and Education. This extensive reach provides a strong foundation for the widespread adoption of the new AI voice bot solutions.
