Adobe Unleashes AI Agents to Revolutionize Business Customer Experience Orchestration

TLDR: Adobe has announced the general availability of its AI agents and the Adobe Experience Platform (AEP) Agent Orchestrator, designed to transform how businesses manage customer experiences and marketing campaigns. These agents, powered by AEP’s reasoning engine, enable dynamic and adaptive reasoning, interpreting user intent from natural language prompts to orchestrate multi-step actions. The offering includes specialized agents for audience segmentation, customer journey orchestration, and experimentation, aiming to boost productivity and deliver personalized experiences at scale. Adobe is also fostering multi-agent collaboration through its Agent2Agent protocol and has partnered with companies like Cognizant and Google Cloud to extend these capabilities.

Adobe (Nasdaq:ADBE) has officially announced the general availability of its groundbreaking AI agents, poised to redefine how businesses approach customer experience orchestration and marketing campaigns. This significant launch, powered by the Adobe Experience Platform (AEP) Agent Orchestrator, marks a pivotal moment in the evolution of personalized customer engagement.

The AEP Agent Orchestrator serves as an advanced AI platform, enabling businesses to effectively manage and customize AI agents from both Adobe’s ecosystem and third-party providers. At its core lies a sophisticated reasoning engine, which leverages decision science and language models to facilitate dynamic and adaptive reasoning. This allows the platform to accurately interpret user intent from natural language prompts, subsequently determining and activating the most suitable agents to execute complex, multi-step orchestrated plans.

Anjul Bhambhri, senior vice president of engineering at Adobe Experience Cloud, emphasized the company’s long-standing commitment to transforming digital data into actionable insights. “We are now leveraging agentic AI to build specialized agents and embedding them into data, content and experience creation workflows,” said Bhambhri. “Our agentic AI innovations are elevating customer experience orchestration by reimagining processes, unlocking productivity for marketing teams and delivering personalized experiences at scale to drive growth.”

The initial suite of AI agents includes specialized functionalities designed to address critical aspects of customer experience:

Audience Segmentation: These agents assist in refining target audiences, enabling more precise and effective marketing efforts.

Customer Journey Orchestration: Available within Adobe Journey Optimizer, these agents automate the creation and management of customer journeys and targeted campaigns across diverse channels such as web, email, and mobile. They are designed to craft unique journeys based on defined goals and uncover insights for fine-tuning interactions.

Experimentation: Focused on optimization, these agents hypothesize new ideas for improving experiences, such as website enhancements. They analyze causal impact and forecast the effect on customer conversions.

Adobe is also championing interoperability and collaboration among AI agents. The AEP Agent Composer, soon to be released, will provide an intuitive interface for businesses to customize and configure AI agents in alignment with their brand guidelines and organizational policies. Furthermore, the Agent2Agent protocol will facilitate multi-agent collaboration, extending the value of agentic AI across a broader range of workflows.

To further bolster its agentic AI capabilities, Adobe has forged strategic partnerships with leading technology and consulting firms, including Cognizant, Google Cloud, Havas, Medallia, Omnicom, PwC, and VML. These collaborations aim to enable seamless execution of workflows across various agents and offer customization options tailored to specific industries and use cases.

Early adopters, including prominent brands like The Hershey Company, Lenovo, PGA Tour, Wegmans Food Markets, and Wilson Company, have already engaged with Adobe’s AI agents and agent-powered applications, demonstrating the real-world applicability and potential impact of these innovations.
