Absci Forges Strategic Alliance with Oracle and AMD to Accelerate Generative AI Drug Discovery

AUSTIN, Texas and VANCOUVER, Washington – September 11, 2025 – Absci, a pioneering clinical-stage biotech company at the forefront of generative AI-powered therapeutic development, today unveiled a strategic collaboration with Oracle Cloud Infrastructure (OCI) and AMD. This alliance is set to revolutionize drug discovery by significantly accelerating the development of biologics through Absci’s innovative generative AI Drug Creation Platform.

Absci’s platform will harness OCI’s robust AI infrastructure and AMD’s cutting-edge hardware, consolidating its computational resources to expedite biologics design cycles. The company has specifically chosen OCI as the foundational technical environment for developing its sophisticated AI models and scaling its extensive AI workflows. This strategic move has already enabled Absci to accelerate the development and operational aspects of its AI Drug Creation Platform, facilitating large-scale molecular-dynamics (MD) simulations and comprehensive end-to-end antibody design processes.

Building on this initial success with OCI, Absci is further strengthening its capabilities by partnering with AMD. This collaboration will integrate AMD’s next-generation Instinct™ MI355X GPUs into the platform, aiming to boost performance and scalability for its AI Drug Creation Platform.

Oracle’s contribution includes OCI’s bare metal instances, which are powered by 5th Generation AMD EPYC™ processors and feature ultrafast RDMA cluster networking. This configuration provides Absci with the critical low-latency networking and high throughput necessary for large-scale model training and high-resolution molecular-dynamics simulations, which are crucial for refining antibody-antigen interactions. Absci has reported that direct, bare-metal access to AMD GPUs within a single, flat-network supercluster has allowed them to eliminate hypervisor overhead, reduce inter-GPU latency to as little as 2.5 microseconds, and achieve terabytes-per-second throughput for checkpointing and data streaming.
