TLDR: Adobe has officially launched its Premiere video editing software as a powerful new mobile application for iPhone, offering professional-quality editing capabilities on the go. The app, which is free for essential features, includes advanced tools like multi-track timelines, studio-quality audio, and AI-powered sound effects and content generation using Adobe Firefly.
SAN JOSE, CA – September 30, 2025 – Adobe (Nasdaq: ADBE) today announced the release of its highly anticipated Premiere mobile application for iPhone, marking a significant expansion of its industry-leading video editing suite to mobile devices. This new app aims to democratize professional-grade video editing, making it accessible and intuitive for creators to produce high-quality content directly from their smartphones.
The Adobe Premiere mobile app is designed to deliver fast, responsive performance, enabling users to edit with precision on a lightning-fast multi-track timeline. Key features include studio-quality audio enhancements, crystal clear voiceovers, and the integration of perfectly timed AI sound effects. Furthermore, the application leverages Adobe’s commercially safe Firefly models for AI content generation, allowing creators to produce unique multimedia assets directly within the app. Users will also have access to millions of free multimedia assets, fonts, and Lightroom presets to enrich their projects.
Mike Polner, vice president of product marketing for creators at Adobe, emphasized the company’s vision, stating, “We’re excited to bring the power of Premiere to creators’ fingertips, delivering pro-level creative control, without the pro-level complexity. Premiere on iPhone makes it easy for creators to craft and share stories on mobile with studio-quality audio, precise editing tools and stunning visuals, to turn everyday content into polished stories anytime, anywhere.”
The app offers all essential video editing tools for free, with options to upgrade for additional generative credits and cloud storage. This strategic move positions Adobe to cater to a new generation of mobile-first creators, while also providing seasoned professionals with a flexible tool for on-the-go editing. Projects initiated on the mobile app can be seamlessly transferred to Premiere desktop for further precision editing on a larger screen, though sharing to the desktop app may require Adobe credits, which are part of existing Creative Cloud plans or can be purchased separately.
