SylloTips Secures €4.2 Million Seed Funding to Advance Human-in-the-Loop AI Agents

TLDR: Rome-based startup SylloTips has successfully closed a €4.2 million Seed funding round. The investment will accelerate the development of its innovative human-in-the-loop AI agents, designed to automate internal competence centers by learning directly from employee expertise. The round was led by Azimut, with participation from existing investors The Techshop, Techstars, and Cloud Accelerator, and new investor Leo Capital.

Rome, Italy – SylloTips, an Italian startup at the forefront of automation innovation, announced today the successful closing of a €4.2 million Seed funding round. This significant investment is earmarked to propel the development of its cutting-edge human-in-the-loop AI Agents, which are designed to revolutionize how companies manage their internal knowledge and support systems. The funding round was spearheaded by Azimut, through its Azimut Eltif – Venture Capital ALIcrowd III and IV funds, managed by Azimut Libera Impresa SGR. Existing investors, including The Techshop, Techstars, and Cloud Accelerator, reaffirmed their confidence in SylloTips by participating in the round. They were joined by new investor Leo Capital and several prominent business angels, underscoring strong market belief in the company’s vision.

Founded in 2023 by a team of distinguished experts – Giorgio Barnabò (PhD in AI, ex-Amazon), Leonardo Martini (PhD in AI, ex-Harvard), and Simone Silvestri (ex-Ericsson) – SylloTips has rapidly established itself as a pioneer in human-centric AI solutions. The company’s software, seamlessly integrated into platforms like Microsoft Teams, empowers organizations to automate the management of their internal ‘competence centers’. The core innovation lies in its AI agents’ ability to learn directly from employees, particularly when faced with uncertainty. When an AI agent encounters a query it cannot confidently answer, SylloTips automatically engages the company’s subject matter experts. Their valuable interventions are then learned by the AI agents, reviewed, and consolidated into a governed, collective knowledge base, leading to continuous improvement in agent performance.

Giorgio Barnabò, CEO and Co-founder of SylloTips, articulated the company’s unique value proposition: “Companies don’t need another chatbot: they need agents that know when to ask for help, learn from experts, and continuously improve. With SylloTips, agents enter processes, interact with existing systems, and rely on a governed, verifiable memory. That’s how you move from pilots to results.” This statement highlights a critical distinction in the crowded AI landscape, emphasizing practical, measurable outcomes over superficial interactions.

The effectiveness of SylloTips’ approach is already evident, with the company reportedly converting 100% of its pilot projects into full production implementations. Its growing client roster includes notable names such as EOLO, COIMA, Leonardo Assicurazioni, and Gruppo AB, demonstrating strong market validation and trust in its technology.

Adding further weight to SylloTips’ strategic direction, Vincenzo Esposito, CEO of Microsoft Italy and a new SylloTips board member, commented on the broader impact of AI: “Artificial intelligence is the next general-purpose technology, and it is reshaping the way we work. The rise of agents, executing tasks and orchestrating processes, has the potential to multiply impact on people, businesses and the economy. SylloTips’ multi-agent software is rooted in human capital, combining technology with the central role of people.” His remarks underscore the transformative potential of agentic AI, particularly when designed with human collaboration at its core.

The funding comes at a time when many organizations struggle to realize tangible benefits from generative AI. A recent MIT study cited by SylloTips indicates that 95% of organizations see no measurable returns from generative AI, with only 5% of solutions progressing beyond the pilot stage. SylloTips’ success in converting pilots to production stands in stark contrast to this trend, positioning it as a leader in delivering impactful AI solutions that bridge the gap between technological promise and real-world results.
