Camb AI, a leader in speech-to-speech translation technology, has announced two significant partnerships in India, joining forces with sports streaming platform FanCode and media conglomerate The India Today Group. These collaborations are set to revolutionize how Indian audiences consume live sports and news by providing real-time, AI-powered multilingual translation and localization.
The partnership with FanCode, India’s premier sports destination and part of the Dream Sports group, focuses on enhancing live sports commentary. The goal is to deliver AI-driven commentary in multiple Indian languages, complete with features such as distinct male and female voices, authentic background crowd noise, and real-time advertisements, aiming for a broadcast quality indistinguishable from human commentary. This initiative will significantly expand accessibility for FanCode’s extensive content library, which includes over 17,000 live games annually across various sports, with more than 6,000 dedicated to cricket. The AI-commentary solution was successfully piloted during the 2025 Caribbean Premier League, where Hindi commentary was entirely powered by Camb AI’s technology. The announcement was made on the sidelines of the IBC Convention 2025.
Yannick Colaco, co-founder of FanCode, expressed enthusiasm for the collaboration, stating, “As a leading sports-tech platform, we take great pride in constantly innovating to enhance how fans experience sport. We are delighted to work with like-minded partners in CAMB.AI and use AI to revolutionise sports broadcasting in India. With India’s incredible linguistic diversity, it’s exciting to see fans now follow the action in the language of their choice. Our teams will continue working together to build more such AI-led solutions that brings fans closer to the game.”
Akshat Prakash, co-founder and CTO of Camb AI, highlighted the broader impact, adding, “Sports are universal, but language has always been a barrier to scale. With FanCode, we are proving that AI can deliver real-time multilingual commentary at broadcast-grade quality, making every ball of a cricket match accessible and engaging to all fans. This partnership is validation of our growth strategy in India’s sports ecosystem.”
Simultaneously, Camb AI has also partnered with The India Today Group (ITG), marking the world’s first news media collaboration of its kind utilizing AI for live news translation. This strategic alliance aims to leverage Camb AI’s advanced content localization infrastructure to overcome language barriers in news production, making trusted journalism accessible to a more diverse audience across India.
