TLDR: Capgemini has unveiled significant enhancements to its AI-powered Outcome IQ platform for the Ryder Cup 2025, introducing real-time generative AI insights and “What If” scenarios. Building on its successful 2023 deployment, the upgraded system will provide dynamic, context-aware analysis of live match data, historical performance, and player statistics to enrich fan engagement across various digital and broadcast channels.
Capgemini is set to revolutionize the fan experience at the Ryder Cup 2025 with the latest advancements to its AI-powered Outcome IQ platform. First introduced during the Ryder Cup 2023 in Rome, Outcome IQ has undergone a substantial upgrade, now incorporating Capgemini’s proprietary agentic AI system to deliver real-time generative AI insights and dynamic probabilities to golf’s premier team competition.
The platform is meticulously designed to process live shot-by-shot data, integrating it with an extensive database of historical player performance, individual player profiles, specific hole characteristics, and team pairings. This comprehensive analysis allows Outcome IQ to generate precise probabilities and contextual insights the moment each golf ball comes to rest. The system continuously evaluates every shot, hole, and match in real time, offering fans a deeper understanding of critical momentum shifts, strategic decisions made by players, and performance under pressure.
For the 2025 tournament, Capgemini introduces two key new features: real-time generative AI-fueled insights that will be available across all digital channels, and “What If” scenarios. These “What If” scenarios are designed to simulate potential outcomes based on live match conditions, providing an interactive and engaging layer for fans.
Pascal Brier, Chief Innovation Officer and Member of the Group Executive Committee at Capgemini, emphasized the platform’s impact, stating, “Outcome IQ exemplifies how AI can elevate the fan experience in sport. By combining generative AI with our deep expertise in data, tech and customer experience, we’re enabling fans to enjoy the game with new dimensions – where every shot is contextualized, and every moment matters.”
This sophisticated technology is underpinned by nearly five decades of Ryder Cup match history, drawing on an extraordinary depth of data, including player performance across their last 50 tournaments. During the 2023 Ryder Cup, over 4,000 shots were tracked in real time. For 2025, Outcome IQ is poised to go further, capable of processing up to 360 insights simultaneously to deliver near real-time commentary.
Outcome IQ will be actively deployed across all Ryder Cup platforms during the tournament, which is scheduled to take place at Bethpage Black in Farmingdale, New York. Fans will be able to access these enhanced insights through the official Ryder Cup app, social media channels, live broadcasts, and on-site screens.
Capgemini’s commitment to transforming sports through technology is further highlighted by its role as a Worldwide Partner to the Ryder Cup, a partnership that extends through the 2027 Ryder Cup in County Limerick, Ireland.
