Generative AI Integration in Entrepreneurship Programs Boosts Student Intent and Self-Efficacy

TLDR: Recent research indicates that incorporating generative artificial intelligence (AI) into entrepreneurship education significantly enhances students’ entrepreneurial intentions. This positive impact is primarily driven by an improvement in students’ self-efficacy and the strategic support provided by educational institutions.

New findings from academic studies highlight the transformative potential of generative artificial intelligence (AI) in fostering a stronger entrepreneurial spirit among students. Research suggests that the integration of AI tools within entrepreneurship education plays a crucial role in boosting students’ self-efficacy, which in turn, directly correlates with an increased intention to pursue entrepreneurial ventures.

One study, focusing on the impact of generative AI-based entrepreneurship education readiness, found that both AI readiness and class satisfaction positively influenced entrepreneurial self-efficacy and teamwork satisfaction. Critically, entrepreneurial self-efficacy emerged as a strong determinant of entrepreneurial intention, underscoring AI’s vital role in enhancing learners’ confidence and capabilities in the entrepreneurial domain. This research provides actionable insights for improving the effectiveness of AI-driven entrepreneurship education.

Further empirical evidence from a study conducted in Bandung City, involving 400 business students, demonstrated that entrepreneurship education has a significant positive effect on entrepreneurial intention. More importantly, artificial intelligence was found to significantly mediate this relationship. The findings from this study, published in April 2025, suggest that embedding AI tools within the curriculum can enhance students’ entrepreneurial mindset and motivation by fostering creativity, decision-making, and problem-solving skills. Previous research cited in this study also emphasizes that AI integration enhances entrepreneurs’ self-efficacy, particularly in digital environments, leading to stronger entrepreneurial intentions.
