The esteemed award was presented during a special ceremony held on Tuesday, August 19, in Taipei, Taiwan.
The accolade highlights Broadway Infosys’s profound impact on Nepal’s education and technology landscape. The organizers of the summit specifically lauded the company for its instrumental role in providing professional IT training and its consistent efforts in cultivating skilled human resources, thereby significantly contributing to Nepal’s broader digital transformation.
Hari Krishna Adhikari and Uttam Adhikari, Directors of Broadway Infosys, accepted the prestigious award on behalf of the institution. The WITSA Global AI Summit, held from August 18-21, 2025, at the Sheraton Grand Taipei Hotel, is a landmark event bringing together global leaders from industry, government, academia, and research institutions. Organized by WITSA, a global umbrella organization representing ICT associations from over 80 countries (including Nepal’s Computer Association of Nepal (CAN) Federation), the summit focused on the theme ‘AI Shaping the Digital World’. This theme underscored the pivotal role of artificial intelligence in driving innovation and digital development across various sectors.
The WITSA Global Awards, formerly known as the ‘Global Innovation & Tech Excellence Awards,’ are highly regarded honors that acknowledge significant contributions to technology and innovation worldwide. This year’s summit featured awards in 13 categories, with hundreds of companies globally vying for recognition. Notably, new categories such as the Cybersecurity Award, Digital Talent Development Award, Tech Investment Excellence Award, and AI for Good Award were introduced.
Beyond the awards, the summit served as a crucial platform for cross-sector applications of AI, showcasing Taiwan’s capabilities in integrating AI technologies and services, and fostering international collaboration. Prior to the award ceremony, a Nepali delegation, including CAN Federation’s General Secretary Chandra Bilas Bhurtel, engaged in discussions with Taiwan’s Minister of Digital Affairs, Dr. Yu-Nen Huang. The meeting provided an opportunity to share insights into Nepal’s digital journey and the CAN Federation’s collaborative efforts with the government on policy-making, including recent suggestions for Nepal’s newly drafted Artificial Intelligence (AI) policy.
