TLDR: Google has officially launched its AI coding agent, Jules, out of its beta phase on August 6, 2025. Powered by Gemini 2.5 Pro, Jules offers advanced coding assistance, seamless GitHub integration, and new features like Environment Snapshots. The tool is now available with structured pricing tiers, aiming to enhance coding efficiency for both professional developers and broader audiences.
Google’s innovative AI coding agent, Jules, has officially transitioned from its beta phase, making its advanced capabilities more widely accessible as of Wednesday, August 6, 2025. This significant rollout comes just over two months after its public preview debut in May, marking a pivotal step in Google’s commitment to AI-driven development tools.
Jules, powered by the sophisticated Gemini 2.5 Pro, operates as an asynchronous, agent-based system designed to streamline various coding tasks. Its core functionality includes the ability to clone codebases directly into Google Cloud virtual machines, where it can autonomously fix bugs, update code, and even open pull requests and branches through enhanced integration with GitHub. This allows developers to offload routine yet time-consuming tasks, freeing them to concentrate on more complex problem-solving and innovation.
During its beta phase, Jules garnered substantial attention, recording 2.28 million global visits, with nearly half of these interactions occurring on mobile devices. Market intelligence insights revealed that India accounted for the largest share of traffic, followed closely by the United States and Vietnam, underscoring its global appeal and potential impact. Kathy Korevec, Director of Product at Google Labs, highlighted that the decision to move Jules out of beta was driven by significant enhancements in stability and user interface, following hundreds of quality updates implemented throughout the testing period. Korevec expressed confidence in the tool’s long-term trajectory, stating, ‘The trajectory of where we’re going gives us a lot of confidence that Jules is around and going to be around for the long haul.’
With its official launch, Google has introduced a structured pricing model for Jules. A free ‘introductory access’ plan is available, allowing users up to 15 individual tasks per day and three concurrent tasks. For professional developers and teams requiring higher capacities, paid tiers are now integrated into the Google AI Pro and Ultra plans, priced at $19.99 and $124.99 per month, respectively. These paid plans offer significantly higher task limits, a notable adjustment from the more generous 60-task cap during the beta phase.

Beyond professional developers, Google is also positioning Jules as a valuable tool for a broader audience, including non-engineers interested in automating processes, building applications, or designing websites. The introduction of features like ‘Environment Snapshots,’ which allow users to save dependencies and installation scripts, further enhances efficiency and reliability. Internally, Google has already been leveraging Jules for various projects, signaling a robust commitment to harnessing AI for improved coding efficiency and user experience across its operations.
