TLDR: Stockholm-based AI company Tzafon has successfully closed an €8.3 million pre-Seed funding round, the largest in Sweden’s history for this stage. The capital will be used to significantly expand its AI compute capabilities, advance its autonomous AI agent technology, and facilitate the launch of ‘Lightcone,’ an AI agent designed for seamless interaction across digital platforms.
Tzafon, a Stockholm-based artificial intelligence startup founded in 2024, has announced the final close of its pre-Seed funding round, totaling €8.3 million. This significant investment marks Sweden’s largest pre-Seed financing to date, underscoring growing confidence in the nation’s burgeoning AI sector. The funding round saw participation from notable investors including HV Capital, Streamlined VC, Kakao VC, Oliver Jung, and angel investors from OpenAI and xAI.
The primary objective of this capital infusion is to dramatically scale Tzafon’s computational resources, enabling the company to train more sophisticated and ‘agentic’ AI models. A key initiative supported by this funding is the imminent launch of ‘Lightcone,’ an innovative AI agent designed to operate directly on users’ devices, aiming to reduce the friction between user intention and digital action across various applications and platforms.
According to Noah Löfquist, CEO and Co-founder of Tzafon, ‘Our vision at Tzafon is to build agents from the ground up that are capable of collaborating across any digital, and in the future physical environment.’ He further emphasized that this funding round will allow Tzafon to ‘significantly expand our compute resources to train smarter, better, and more agentic AI models. And launch Lightcone, which will reduce the friction between intention and action across any digital device.’
Tzafon specializes in developing action-oriented AI agents and multi-agent systems capable of automating complex digital tasks, thereby enhancing operational efficiency for both enterprises and consumers. The company leverages cutting-edge machine learning techniques, reinforcement learning, and a proprietary AI framework to push the boundaries of agentic AI. Early performance benchmarks for their models have reportedly achieved top results on web tasks on OSWorld, highlighting the efficacy of their technology.
The company acknowledges that while AI has made strides in research, writing, and content generation, the realm of autonomous action remains largely untapped. Tzafon aims to bridge this gap, addressing the significant market need and infrastructure challenges associated with creating fast, scalable, and highly autonomous agents. This investment positions Tzafon at the forefront of a wave of agentic AI investments, with comparable deals seen in companies like E2B and Composio, signaling a strong market valuation for infrastructure supporting autonomous AI agents.

The €8.3 million raise, equivalent to approximately 94 million Swedish kronor, builds upon an initial 40 million kronor raised earlier in the spring, showcasing the rapid growth of the young firm. Tzafon’s focus on on-device agents could also help mitigate concerns regarding energy demands and data privacy, aligning with the broader trend towards edge computing and reinforcing Sweden’s strategic push in AI innovation.
