BMC Helix Forges Partner Alliances to Streamline AI Agent Integration

TLDR: BMC Helix is strategically expanding its partner network to accelerate the deployment of AI agents, aiming to significantly boost sales in the burgeoning field of agentic AI. The company, now operating as a standalone entity, currently offers approximately 30 AI agents and is committed to continuously developing more to enhance service operations and redefine enterprise IT economics.

BMC Helix, a global leader in software solutions, is actively cultivating a robust partner ecosystem to simplify and expedite the deployment of AI agents, a move anticipated to drive substantial growth in the agentic AI market. This strategic focus follows BMC Helix’s recent separation from the broader BMC Software business, allowing it to concentrate specifically on operations and service management software.

Ryan Manning, Chief Product Officer at BMC Helix, emphasized the critical role of partnerships in this endeavor. Speaking at the BMC Helix Roadshow London event, Manning stated, “We have a small talented team working on this, but to succeed we need a strong partnership relationship. We need BMC Helix to come in and augment what we have internally. We know we have to work together, as things will move quickly in this area in the future.”

BMC Helix currently boasts around 30 AI agents designed to assist partners and customers in managing their service operations, with plans for continuous expansion. Manning clarified that while the number isn’t in the ‘hundreds,’ new agents are being steadily introduced. He addressed concerns about job displacement due to AI, asserting, “There is a fear about jobs as a result of AI deployments, but AI is not deflationary, it is a workforce multiplier.” This perspective aligns with other software vendors who believe AI can empower developers and IT departments to automate basic tasks and more efficiently handle complex operational challenges.

The company’s vision is to ‘reset the economics of enterprise IT,’ with Manning predicting that ‘AI will see the commoditisation of many enterprise software systems.’ The 2025 State of Generative and Agentic AI for IT report by BMC indicates that 91% of respondents agree GenAI is most valuable when trained on all enterprise data, and 80% of practitioners note that data, application, and infrastructure growth outpaces IT team expansion. BMC Helix positions itself as the only open-first agentic AI platform spanning all service and operations management data, aiming to multiply human productivity and eliminate toil.

The latest BMC Helix Service Management 25.2 release introduces significant enhancements to agentic AI capabilities. These include the BMC HelixGPT Agent Builder, a no-code framework enabling IT and line-of-business service owners to create and deploy custom AI agents. Other notable agents are BMC HelixGPT Ops Swarmer, which facilitates Microsoft Teams sessions directly from incident records; BMC HelixGPT Catalog Curator, for automatic generation of service offerings; and an enhanced BMC HelixGPT Employee Navigator, now supporting image file processing via mobile cameras. Additionally, the BMC HelixGPT Post Mortem Analyzer provides detailed incident reviews to prevent recurrence, and BMC HelixGPT Insight Finder dynamically generates dashboards and reports via a chat interface.

BMC Helix’s platform recently achieved the highest possible score in the Agentic AI, advisor, and assistant criteria in The Forrester Wave™: AIOps Platforms, Q2 2025 report, released in April. The company also supports the Model Context Protocol (MCP) developed by Anthropic, allowing for workflows spanning multiple agents and integration with agents from other IT platforms.

Carlos Casanova, Principal Analyst at Forrester, recommended BMC, stating, “Customers looking for a trusted partner with world-class experience that understands their current state and envisions their future IT needs from a business outcomes perspective should choose BMC.” This strategic expansion and technological advancement underscore BMC Helix’s commitment to transforming IT operations through intelligent automation and collaborative partnerships.
