AI-Powered Farm Insurance by Agi3 Wins Top Innovation Award at Ag in Motion Show

TLDR: Agi3’s innovative AI-powered individualized farm insurance products have secured the business solutions prize at the Innovations Program Awards, held in conjunction with the Ag in Motion farm show in Langham, Saskatchewan. The company’s platform leverages advanced AI, including large language models and sophisticated algorithms, to offer highly customized coverage and premiums, enabling farmers to pay for their specific risk rather than subsidizing others.

Langham, Saskatchewan – July 16, 2025 – Agi3, a leader in agricultural enterprise risk management, has been recognized with the prestigious business solutions prize in the Innovations Program Awards. The accolade was presented prior to the Ag in Motion farm show, held in Langham, Saskatchewan, celebrating Agi3’s groundbreaking AI-powered individualized farm insurance products.

The company’s flagship offerings, AgriEnhance™ for crop insurance and FarmElevate™ for property and casualty, are designed to revolutionize how farmers manage and mitigate risk. These solutions stand out by providing highly individualized, customizable, and purpose-built coverage that directly addresses the unique needs of each farm. According to Kyle Gibson, Managing Director of Operations for Agi3, the platform ingests vast amounts of data, utilizing large language models to digitize crop lines from farms. This allows Agi3 to map every Legal Land Description farm in western Canada, assigning a precise risk score based on location and other critical factors.

Gibson elaborated on the technology’s depth, stating, “We have a ton of algorithms in the back that start ingesting soil type, soil moisture.” This granular data analysis ensures that premiums are tailored to the specific conditions and practices of an individual farm, moving away from a system where farmers might inadvertently subsidize their neighbors. “Now you’re not subsidizing your neighbour anymore, you’re paying for your your risk. So we’re trying to get better and better at that, just pricing your risk,” Gibson explained.

The benefits for farmers are substantial, including consistent cash flow in the event of reduced yields, customizable insurance coverage at both the individual crop and whole farm levels, and a fast, automated application process. Rick Rutherford, President of Rutherford Farms Ltd., praised the platform, stating, “The Agi3 platform brings in all my field data, allowing me to track activities and events, and can now provide me with custom options for insurance. This will improve my coverage, and the premium I pay takes into account how I am farming.” He added that the platform helps organize data, maps each field, and provides real-time insights to support decision-making, including optimal crop insurance and specific premiums for each field and farm.
