UAE-Based 21-Year-Old Dropout’s MyASI AI System Outperforms Tech Giants on Global Benchmark

TLDR: Quddus Pativada, a 21-year-old college dropout from the UAE, has developed MyASI, an AI agent system that has achieved the top rank globally on the GAIA benchmark, surpassing established AI leaders like OpenAI and Genspark. Developed by a small team of five with a modest budget, MyASI specializes in creating highly capable, task-specific AI agents for various industries, demonstrating the UAE’s growing prominence in the global AI landscape.

A significant breakthrough in artificial intelligence has emerged from the United Arab Emirates, where 21-year-old college dropout Quddus Pativada has developed MyASI, an AI agent system that has reportedly outperformed major tech companies such as OpenAI and Genspark. MyASI secured the #1 global ranking on the GAIA benchmark, a rigorous standard designed to evaluate the general intelligence of AI assistants across diverse domains.

Pativada, who previously founded an AI-driven tutor named ASI, spearheaded the development of MyASI with a lean team of just five individuals and a remarkably modest budget of $20,000 (approximately Dh73,500). This achievement underscores the potential for innovation outside traditional tech hubs and with limited resources.

Unlike general AI systems that aim to know a little about everything, MyASI’s core strength lies in its ability to generate specialized, expert AI agents for specific tasks. These agents can function in roles typically held by human professionals, such as CFOs, research analysts, designers, or marketing strategists. Pativada emphasized this distinction, stating, ‘This is a decisive moment for the future direction: on one side, AI that is just okay at everything, and on the other side, an AI team consisting of experts personally prepared for you, and that is the direction we prefer.’

The success of MyASI has garnered attention, including from prominent investors like Mark Cuban. Pativada proudly declared, ‘We are the UAE’s DeepSeek moment — except we didn’t just match the Americans and Chinese, we beat them.’ He further highlighted the UAE’s unique approach to technological advancement: ‘The UAE isn’t trying to be Silicon Valley 2.0 — they’re writing an entirely new playbook. One where a 21-year-old dropout and four brilliant engineers can outmaneuver companies worth hundreds of billions.’ He also noted that Microsoft CEO Satya Nadella had previously called their approach ‘groundbreaking’ during a visit to Abu Dhabi.

MyASI is already demonstrating its transformative capabilities across various industries. A university utilized the system to create an entire executive education curriculum in a matter of hours. Cancer researchers are employing MyASI’s agents, and small businesses are leveraging its power to compete effectively with Fortune 500 companies. In one notable instance, a small business owner in Cairo used MyASI to digitize and expand his family restaurant, receiving a comprehensive digital branding package—including a fully functioning website, digital menus, social media templates, and a reservation system—in just 20 minutes. Another user reportedly generated a website from a simple AI prompt and sold it for $600, a task that typically takes weeks.

Pativada believes this is just the beginning, stating, ‘And yet — we’ve only seen 1 per cent of what’s possible.’ MyASI is expected to transition from its beta phase to general public availability soon, with developers worldwide already engaging with the platform. Pativada’s message to aspiring innovators is clear: ‘Don’t consider your limits as obstacles, solve real problems and just start, because there is no longer a limit to location, we made it from Emirates, you can also make it from anywhere.’
