TLDR: Population health technology vendor Zyter|TruCare has appointed Sundar Subramanian, a former partner at PwC’s Strategy&, as its new Chief Executive Officer. Subramanian will lead the company’s expansion into AI-orchestrated population health management, with a focus on a new agentic AI coordination offering designed to improve efficiency and care outcomes.
ROCKVILLE, Md. – Zyter|TruCare, a prominent provider of population health management technology, has named Sundar Subramanian as its new Chief Executive Officer. Subramanian joins the company from PricewaterhouseCoopers (PwC), where he was a partner at its consulting affiliate, Strategy&, and led the Enterprise Strategy, Value, and Digital Transformation business. His career also includes senior positions at Booz & Company, WellCare, and McKinsey & Co.
Subramanian’s appointment comes as Zyter|TruCare launches a new agentic AI-powered offering. This technology utilizes AI agents that can communicate and interact with each other to complete complex tasks, aiming to streamline administrative processes and reduce the burden on healthcare professionals. The company, which serves 45 health plans covering over 44 million members, plans to integrate this technology across its platform to enhance prior authorization, case management, and utilization management.
In a statement, Subramanian emphasized the need for technology to deliver meaningful results. “Across many engagements with senior leadership at some of the country’s largest healthcare organizations, a quiet conviction grew louder: that technology must do more than modernize—it must drive outcomes that matter,” he said. “This approach goes far beyond simply automating tasks within a faulty system – it integrates intelligent automation, agentic AI, and expert clinical services to transform healthcare’s fragmented transactional processes into a population-centric, proactive care model.”
He added, “We think there’s tremendous amount of efficiency to unlock, to reinvest in care management. The administrative burden of the clinicians and the nurses and doctors is inordinate right now.”
