Meltwater, a prominent global provider of media, social, and consumer intelligence, has announced a significant expansion of its Artificial Intelligence (AI) Hub in Hyderabad, India. The company has moved its operations into a new 14,000 sq. ft. facility located in Hi-Tech City, less than a year after the initial establishment of its AI center in the vibrant Indian technology hub. This strategic move highlights Meltwater’s intensified investment in AI innovation and solidifies Hyderabad’s growing reputation as a leading technology ecosystem in India.
The newly expanded facility currently accommodates a 60-member Research and Development (R&D) team. Meltwater has ambitious plans to scale this team to 150 engineers by the close of 2026, demonstrating a commitment to fostering local talent and accelerating AI development. The company has actively recruited top engineering professionals from esteemed Indian institutions such as IIT Hyderabad, BITS Pilani Hyderabad, and IIIT Hyderabad. Furthermore, Meltwater intends to broaden its university outreach through campus recruitment drives scheduled from October to December 2025, targeting institutions like IISc Bangalore and IIIT Bangalore.
The Hyderabad center has rapidly become an indispensable component of Meltwater’s global R&D framework, spearheading the development of groundbreaking AI capabilities across its entire product suite. This assistant is designed to streamline complex workflows, including brand monitoring, competitive intelligence, and the generation of news briefings.
In addition to MIRA, the Hyderabad team has developed sophisticated multilingual Named Entity Recognition (NER) models and natural language processing (NLP) systems capable of analyzing content in over 200 languages. They have also created fully automated Brand Performance Reports, which convert raw data into actionable intelligence, thereby enhancing value, insight, and productivity for Meltwater’s global customer base.
Aditya Jami, Chief Technology Officer at Meltwater, emphasized the rapid integration and impact of the Hyderabad office, stating, “In just nine months, the Hyderabad office has become integral to Meltwater’s global innovation engine.
