Andersen and University of San Francisco Law School Launch Pioneering Generative AI Tax Research Training Program

TLDR: Andersen, a global tax and consulting firm, has partnered with the University of San Francisco’s School of Law (USF Law) to introduce a groundbreaking Generative AI (GenAI) Tax Research Training Program. This initiative aims to equip Andersen’s tax professionals with the skills to responsibly integrate AI tools into their daily work, enhancing efficiency and accuracy while upholding ethical and professional standards. The program leverages USF Law’s innovative AI curriculum, which is already integrated into its core legal education.

SAN FRANCISCO – Andersen, a leading global provider of tax, valuation, financial advisory, and related consulting services, has announced a strategic partnership with the University of San Francisco’s School of Law (USF Law) to launch a pioneering Generative AI (GenAI) Tax Research Training Program. This initiative, unveiled on October 30, 2025, is designed to set a new industry standard for how accounting and legal professionals can ethically and effectively utilize AI in their tax practices.

The program is a direct response to the rapid transformation of professional services by GenAI, addressing the critical need for firms to adopt these powerful tools while ensuring adherence to regulatory requirements and professional standards. It combines USF Law’s nationally recognized AI curriculum with specialized tax research training, providing a structured, ethics-focused approach.

Mark Vorsatz, global chairman and CEO of Andersen, emphasized the importance of this collaboration: “AI is an incredibly transformative force in our world today. It’s critical that our people are prepared not only to leverage AI to enhance productivity and client service, but to do so in a manner that maintains professional standards and quality control.” He further noted, “USF is on the leading edge of embedding this kind of training and mindset into its curriculum, and we’re honored that our employees will be part of this program focused on GenAI tax research.”

This partnership builds upon USF Law’s innovative approach to AI education. Earlier this year, the law school became the first in the United States to integrate GenAI directly into its core curriculum, making it an essential component woven throughout the program rather than a standalone elective.

The inaugural cohort, comprising approximately 60 Andersen professionals, is slated to commence training in late 2025. Participants in the program will acquire skills to:
* Evaluate and select appropriate GenAI tools for various tax research applications.
* Integrate AI responsibly into their daily workflows.
* Maintain professional judgment and quality control when conducting AI-assisted research.
* Navigate complex ethical considerations and compliance requirements associated with AI use in tax.
