TLDR: Cybersecurity startup 7AI is tackling the pervasive issue of alert fatigue in security operations by deploying ‘swarming AI agents.’ These autonomous agents are designed to offload repetitive tasks like alert triaging, investigation, and data enrichment from human security teams, allowing professionals to focus on higher-level strategic work. The Boston-based company, founded last year and launched in February with $36 million in seed funding, is set to showcase its 7AI Agentic Security Platform at Black Hat 2025.
Cybersecurity professionals are increasingly overwhelmed by the sheer volume of security alerts, leading to a phenomenon known as ‘alert fatigue.’ Addressing this critical challenge, startup 7AI has introduced its innovative ‘swarming AI agents’ to automate and streamline security operations. The company, founded last year and launched in February with $36 million in seed funding from Greylock Partners, Spark Capital, and CRV, aims to redefine how security teams manage threats.
7AI’s Agentic Security Platform leverages autonomous AI agents to handle essential yet repetitive tasks that typically consume a significant portion of a human analyst’s time. These tasks include triaging alerts, enriching signals, correlating telemetry, and searching for known threats. Nate Burke, 7AI’s Chief Marketing Officer, emphasized the urgency of the problem, stating, ‘Security teams are buckling under the weight of alert volumes today. This isn’t a future problem.’
The platform’s capabilities, which will be showcased at Black Hat 2025, include dynamic reasoning, allowing AI agents to investigate novel alerts and determine optimal responses in real-time. Furthermore, enterprise insights enable the agents to utilize an organization’s ‘tribal knowledge,’ such as policies and user roles, to significantly reduce false positives. The system also supports autonomous remediation, where authorized AI agents can take immediate actions like isolating compromised hosts or blocking malicious traffic.
7AI’s approach is already demonstrating tangible benefits. The company reported in April that its platform had investigated over 178,000 customer alerts, saving security teams more than 68,000 hours of work. This translates to the equivalent of 334 full-time analyst years and over $3.4 million in reclaimed productivity. Users have reported saving between 30 minutes and 2.5 hours per investigation.

Lior Div, co-founder and Chief Executive of 7AI, stated, ‘Our mission isn’t to make people more efficient at nonhuman work — it’s to give tedious but necessary tasks to AI agents that are faster, more consistent and infinitely scalable.’ This strategy frees human security professionals to concentrate on strategic initiatives like threat hunting, incident planning, and anticipating adversary moves. The company views its solution as an example of ‘using AI to defeat AI,’ countering the increasingly sophisticated AI tools employed by threat actors.
